Back again? You guys must be gluttons for punishment. Just kidding. Welcome back! This week, we talk a bit more about that wacky white box known as the XBox 360, or more specifically, just random things that come to mind about it. Also, we gab a little bit about the current state of PC games, and why the consoles are both a threat and a non-issue. We spend a little time on the newest PC hardware, or the lack of, and Zane’s beef with Electronics Boutique. And last but not least, we spend mucho time on listener mail due to the lengthy questions about various gaming things. Whew, two episodes in one week? Santa must’ve come early this year.

Here it is! The first in a supplemental series of episodes of The Widget. We’re going to be dumping these right into the main feed when we do them, so be sure to keep your eyes peeled. The format for these is going to be taking one topic and concentrating the entire show on it, thus giving us a chance to further talk a given subject to death. In this premiere episode, we talk about the XBox 360 launch, and give our impression of the hype, the lines, the machine, the games, and our little take on the “shortage” (notice the quotes). Download it and enjoy!

Circle the wagons! The Widget is back again. With the launch of the XBox 360 looming ever closer, we spend quite a bit of time going over some the initial reviews of the games and the system itself. We also look at the flipside of the media coverage; mainstream media and their “impressions” of the system. Yeah, the New York Post needs to find a new writer, like now. Also, we go over the list of winners at this years Spike TV Videogame Awards, and give our opinions on what should have made the cut. Tim’s RetroCorner makes a triumphant return this week with a quick overview of the freshly announced Capcom Classics Collection for the PSP. All this and more, plus the ever-popular listener mail.

Hello again Widgetheads! This week, Tim and Zane team-up to bring you the latest in tech, games, and geek. To kick things off, we go into a lengthy (yes lengthy) discussion about the Sony Rootkit debacle and how it is going to effect the rest of the industry, and why more of the general population should care. Also, Zane chimes in on the new games Gun and The Movies with reviews on both in a truly barebones way. We discuss the upcoming Apple switch to Intel, and why Tim truly believes Apple is going to remain a hardware company. Also, we talk about the delay of Half-Life 2: Aftermath and give our overview of the current status of Valve, all this and more, PLUS The Widget listener mail. Enjoy. And remember, to go to http://www.thewidgetshow.com/forum for the show notes.
