Ep. 66 – The Episode That Was Late

I'm so lucky I was actually able to capture this moment on film. So awesome.

I think the entire universe was somehow conspiring against getting this episode posted on teh internets. However, it’s here, and it’s… well, it’s not great… more ‘acceptable’. Nah, fuck that, it’s awesome! Dave bought a fancy new microphone, Paul is a wanker, and Tim takes a piss during the show. I’d write more, but hey, I’m pressed for time. I guess you’ll just have to listen.

  1. Guys, great show, and thanks for the indepth discussion that jumped off from my HDMI switcher question (oh and for the site to pick on up from, will get one ordered pronto!)

Few points about the sound bar I’d like to add. Yes it was over priced, cost us a cool £800 back in November ’08, however I think it’s much cheaper now. Also, we have it in the worst possible setup. If it was against a flat wall, with walls either side with no openings/windows I think it would give half decent projection behind you. However we have it in a corner, with an archway through to the dining room on one side and a window on the other.. to basically it’s crippled before it even begins :)

Second point, I do use it with a seperate sub, we tried it first without and it just lost that character to we hooked up the old sub from our previous all-in-one DVD player and it gave us just what we needed. Of course it could be better, but it works.

Thanks for the ideas on an alternative Paul, and although I’m likely to stick with the sound bar, I will certainly look into the ideas. Mainly we are in stuck with front speakers only as we have laminate flooring and haven’t placed speaker cable under it, secondly, the soundbar looks really quite good, and whilst I’m all for function over form, in the living room we have to take that into account also. I’ll see if I can get a pic of the setup posted somewhere :)

Again, great show guys, great advice and discussion. Keep it up :)
